36 Hours into my Dry Fast

I'm currently 36 hours into my dry fast. I am considering to end it to a water fast, or water fast for a few hours and break the fast as my temptations are starting to take over. During these 36 hours its almost the same as water fasting except I'm not able to drink any water so slightly more time saved. I still feel physically weak just like the water fast.

I feel like my mind is more clear and my skin is slightly more smooth. The first day my mouth was more dry and I had some small light coughing, but today seems to be fine. I guess my body adjusted to the dry fast. In addition I have lost a bit more weight, I didn't do the measurements but I do feel very light.

Another positive note is that there is little or no pain in my shoulder joint, which I was having trouble with especially when eating.

Dry Fast VS Water Fast

Water Fasting is simply put water fast is not eating anything but drinking water. Water allows your body flush toxins out at a rapid rate. There are no toxins going back in while you cleanse. This allows your body to use 100 percent of its metabolic energy in cleansing. The digestive system is given a near-complete rest, extra energy will go to healing the body.

The digestive system works without any rest, day or night. Water fasting will give the body more rest to repair and heal itself. The body has a natural mechanism to remove toxins from the body during the healing process. Toxins are mostly thrown out through digestive system into the intestines. When this happens, there will be a thick white coating on the tongue which may remain. This is a sign that the toxins are being eliminated. When the fast starts, the body triggers your pituitary gland to release the HGH (human growth hormone). This hormonal surge causes the body to use more fat for energy, instead of breaking down muscle. Long term fasting can cure or improve many conditions like eczema and other skin problems, migraine, sinusitis, chronic body aches, asthma, allergies, arthritis, etc. It gives a clearer skin and better sleep. It can boost immunity and reverse the aging process, clears the mind and makes one feel light and energetic. Water fasting cleanses the human body physically and mentally.

Ancient philosophers like Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Pythagoras did with water fasting.

Dry Fasting is not drinking or eating. Split into two types, Soft and Hard. Soft dry fasting is being able to take showers, washing your hands, brushing your teeth. Hard dry fasting is not touching water at all, no showers, no washing hands, dishes etc. When dry fasting the body survives on endogenous or metabolic water, produced internally as a result of metabolizing fat tissue. Unlike any exogenous water, this metabolic water has excellent quality, it is produced by the hard work of our very own cells. It will erases any negative information imprint which the body had before the fast, allowing cells to experience a rebirth, taking in any available water from the air and supplying it to healthy cells. Besides water, the body during a dry fast absorbs atmospheric carbon dioxide and nitrogen to manufacture its own amino acids. Because there is no water to flush out the endogenous toxins, these are eliminated by a unique mechanism, dormant during less rigorous modes of fasting: Each cell will become the furnace that burns up its own waste.

Microorganisms need water to survive and inflammation cannot exist without water. Dry fasting a highly effective tool to improve health issues and degenerative conditions. It stimulates the immune system, activates the body’s anti-inflammatory mechanisms, purifies the blood and clears the blood vessels, cleanses the GI tract and renews its mucosal lining. Dry fasting eliminates parasites and promotes regeneration of healthy tissues. There are many great benefits to dry fasting. Every cell of the body literally cleans body, only the strongest and healthiest of cells can survive in such extreme conditions, while cysts and benign tumors disappear as a result of autolysis, a process by which the body will sacrifice the weakest cells for its own survival

Dry fasting was practiced by Moses for 40 days, Ezra, the Nation of Israel, the Apostle Paul and Jesus Christ. Chinese history has examples of men living from the pure energy of Chi, and not from the energy of food or water.

Comparison
The biggest difference between a dry fast and a water fast is that during the water fast, they are still consuming water. But dry fasting on the other hand is producing endogenous, perfectly structured water from it’s own fat reserves. Only properly structured water can nourish, cleanse and heal our body. Badly structured water can actually cause more harm than good. Because our body spends lots of energy on purifying and structuring the water we drink, we can give our body even deeper rest and peace by stopping not only eating, but also drinking water.

Water is a powerful carrier of information and it can store good and healing vibrations. But it can also carry destructive and heavy energy, people are often carrying negative energy in their body for many years. This is the most powerful and magical transformation that dry fasting can give to people, erase the old energy by using up the excess water. The kind of water that carries the negative energy is typically found in chronically inflamed areas of the body.

Almost all kinds of diseases are connected to inflammation and negative energy carried by water trapped in the diseased area. Inflammation cannot exist without water, if water can go away, inflammation will go down. During the dry fasting body is looking for any source of water much more aggressively than in the normal conditions. This makes it possible to reduce the inflammation and clean out even most tough diseases.

There are no chemically pure water in the body, it is always filled with minerals, vitamins, glucose, amino acids and other nutrients. Perfectly structured water containing all the important nutrient creates a perfect environment and healthy body. Problem is that many times people consume very badly structured water. Ex. when water is heated above 75 degrees Celsius, it looses it’s natural structure and becomes very poorly absorb able for the body. And many people drink even worse water, filled with heavy toxins and carrying very heavy information of anger or fear.

This water, including boiled one is going through the body and it has to go through many organs and through the blood. It uses a lots of body’s energy to process and leaves a heavy residue behind it. In many cases, part of this water gets stuck in the certain area of the body, intoxicating organs, feeding parasites and developing disease.  It is very hard to eliminate this pools of toxic water from the body, but it is possible while dry fasting.

When dry fasting, the body starts using up all the available nutrients, including fat cells, old weakened cells and other unused material in the body on a much faster rate. One day of dry fasting equals approximately 3 days of water fasting. So dry fasting is a real shortcut to healthier and cleaner body, but it’s also more dangerous and requires a very serious preparation.

Benefits of Fasting

Why fast? Fasting helps the body to normalize itself, Think about what happens when you go to sleep at night. A good example is that you think of your body as a store and food are the customers, normally when a store is closed, it has time to reorganize the shelves and clean the store, which is when we go to sleep. But imagine if the store was closed for 3 days or more (compared to fasting for 3 days), no food/customers enter the store. The store/body can now clean itself for 3 days and organize its shelves and prepare the body/store to be more efficient in the future.

Fasting is not starving, we only reach the starving stage if we are going 50+ days without food. Normally when we fast we don't go for that long. Fasting is a break period from food during which the body's nutrient reserves are adequate to meet the body's nutritional needs. Starvation can occur only if you stop eating beyond the point where you have sufficient nutrient reserves.

When we fast we are giving our body a rest from food by not eating, therefore not using up our digestive system so that the body can concentrate on repairing other areas of the body.

Fasting has been in our history for a very long time. All known religious faiths in the world have all encouraged the practice of fasting. Fasting is a time of physical and emotional cleansing. One has to maintain the witness attitude and watch the various thoughts and emotions thrown out from the subconscious mind. The blocked energies are released and the negative mental impressions are brought under control.

Benefits:
-Toxins are removed and one has more energy and vigor
-Fasting can improve immunity and gives us longevity
-Lose weight, anywhere from 1-2 lbs a day.
-Improve skin like Acne, Eczema and Psoriasis
-Senses brighten, smell, sight and hearing
-Improved Self control
-Cellular repair: The body induces important cellular repair processes, such as removing waste material from cells
-Remove emotional eating, food cravings halt
-Anti-Ageing, new cells are created where old ones die off
-Fasting Improves Insulin Sensitivity
-Human growth hormone: The blood levels of growth hormone may increase as much as 5-fold
-Helps with Self-Enlightenment: helps people feel more connected with life while reading, meditating, yoga and martial arts. With no food in the digestive system it makes more room for energy for the body
-Fasting Improves Your Brain Function: It boosts the production of a protein called brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF.) BDNF activates brain stem cells to convert into new neurons and triggers numerous other chemicals that promote neural health. This protects your brain cells from  Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.

Cons:
-Unable to eat for as long as the fast, can be difficult when watching TV and seeing commercials about food or going to a grocery store and realizing you are on a fast.
-Physically weaker during the fast as the body is detoxing
-Bad breath due to detox symptoms
-Cannot do intense exercise
-Need to rest as much as possible

Easily you can see the pros outweigh the cons. But you need to really listen to your body when fasting and don't push too far to the point where your body cannot handle it. Best advised to take it in baby steps water fast 16 hours first then wait until the next fast to take it further and build on that.

Types of Fasting

Intermittent Fasting:
Usually refers to not fasting more than 24 hours, there are different types:
23/1: Fasting 23 hours, eating one hour
20/4: Fasting 20 hours, eating during 4 hours
16/8: Fasting 16 hours, eating during 8 hours

These can go on for however long you'd like.

Fruit Fasting:
Consuming fruit only diet for 16 hours or more. It can be done with one fruit as well, such as an Apple Fast, which is more beneficial.

Juice Fasting:
Using a blender and putting fruits to produce juices for fasting. These fasts can go up to easily 20+ days without too much downsides. Usually recommended before one decides to go on a full water fast

Water Fasting:
Only consuming water for 16 hours or more. For beginners should only be 16-24 hours, you can gradually build up to 21 days or more. Going for longer than 3 days is risky and one has to monitor his/her own health and break the fast if they do not feel well. Many well known people like Ghandi have fasted up to 21 days.

Dry Fasting:
This is the strongest and most effective of all the types of fasting. But this is also the most dangerous type of fasting. This type of fasting should be done with extreme caution and should not be done if you have not done multiple full water fasts before.

Dry fasting is said to be 3 times more effective than a pure water fast. There are two types, hard and soft. Hard dry fasting is no water in contact at all, that includes taking showers or washing your hands. Soft dry fasting is no water swallowed, but showering and washing hands is allowed. Most of the diseases of our body has to deal with inflammation. Dry fasting eliminates inflammation the same way a swamp gets rid of mosquitoes and other insects when it dries up. Microbes are annihilated immediately. The shortage of water is a cleansing drought that is disastrous to the body’s enemies. It is pernicious for pathological bacteria.

First Post (18 hours into my soft Dry Fast)

Hi everyone, I decided to start a blog on Dry Fasting. There seems to be not too much content available on the internet, compared to water fasting at least.

At the moment I am currently in the middle of a soft Dry Fast for about 18 hours, I'm going to try to push to 24 hours.

There are two different types of Dry Fasting, soft and hard

Soft Dry Fasting:
-Allowed Contact with water
-Allowed washing hands/showering
-Allowed brushing teeth

Hard Dry Fasting:
-Cannot come into contact with water at all
-No washing hands/showering
-Brushing teeth not allowed (maybe without water is allowed I guess)

I must admit Dry Fasting is a dangerous activity and must be monitored carefully, supervision is advised. Before dry fasting you should at least have done several 24 hour + water fasts before attempting this. I have done several water fasts before (no salt, no coffee/tea), the most lasting up to 3.5 days (84 hours to be exact) =).

I started off with a couple of 24 hour approx water fasts, then moved right up to 30 hours then 36, 40. After that I went straight to 84 hours.

Fasting For Starters:
I would recommend by eating your last meal at lunch (try to eat a healthy meal), then after that to stop eating for the rest of the day, skipping dinner, skipping dessert/snack and going to bed. Then next morning just eat as normal to 'break' the fast.

After you are able to do that, you can then slowly move to 24 hours then progress as your body tells you.

My Reason for Fasting:
The reason I am doing fasting is for my skin, I have really bad dry eczema, I was introduced to the idea of fasting by another site cureeczemaslowly.com . Very good site for battling eczema, does not charge any money, I really recommend it, the person on the site has done as much as a 10 day water fast. I'm still relatively new to fasting as I've only started doing it several months ago and reading up about it maybe 4-5 months ago.
