First Post (18 hours into my soft Dry Fast)
Hi everyone, I decided to start a blog on Dry Fasting. There seems to be not too much content available on the internet, compared to water fasting at least.
At the moment I am currently in the middle of a soft Dry Fast for about 18 hours, I'm going to try to push to 24 hours.
There are two different types of Dry Fasting, soft and hard
Soft Dry Fasting:
-Allowed Contact with water
-Allowed washing hands/showering
-Allowed brushing teeth
Hard Dry Fasting:
-Cannot come into contact with water at all
-No washing hands/showering
-Brushing teeth not allowed (maybe without water is allowed I guess)
I must admit Dry Fasting is a dangerous activity and must be monitored carefully, supervision is advised. Before dry fasting you should at least have done several 24 hour + water fasts before attempting this. I have done several water fasts before (no salt, no coffee/tea), the most lasting up to 3.5 days (84 hours to be exact) =).
I started off with a couple of 24 hour approx water fasts, then moved right up to 30 hours then 36, 40. After that I went straight to 84 hours.
Fasting For Starters:
I would recommend by eating your last meal at lunch (try to eat a healthy meal), then after that to stop eating for the rest of the day, skipping dinner, skipping dessert/snack and going to bed. Then next morning just eat as normal to 'break' the fast.
After you are able to do that, you can then slowly move to 24 hours then progress as your body tells you.
My Reason for Fasting:
The reason I am doing fasting is for my skin, I have really bad dry eczema, I was introduced to the idea of fasting by another site cureeczemaslowly.com . Very good site for battling eczema, does not charge any money, I really recommend it, the person on the site has done as much as a 10 day water fast. I'm still relatively new to fasting as I've only started doing it several months ago and reading up about it maybe 4-5 months ago.
